I am inclined to see her in figurine skates which are not only less heavy but are also way more suitable for a girl. She is the adorable princess type of girl and alsways wants to look cute just like the Disney characters she adores at a time. She likes delicate things. You want to meet what your children like with logic, common sense and what is practical. I simply do not see her ending up as an ice hockey player somewhere in the national league one day.
With this argument in mind I bundled them up the other day and we drove to a sports equipment shop across town.
It was a great if unexpected experience and the dreaded shoping turned out to be rather delightful. We were not the only ones preparing for the upcoming season on the ice rink and I found myself immersed in a passionate discussion with 3 other mothers on the subject while my kids were trying on children´s skates, discarding them, pulling out another pair, comparing them with their new friends and basically went through most every pair for sale in the shop.
